What’s new in version 32 of Bi for SCCM

Version 32 of Bi for SCCM, release date 4/1/2020, is available from AppSource. This post summarizes the changes and new features in Bi for SCCM, version 32.

Current customers should visit App Source to upgrade. Be sure that any customizations you’ve made were made to a custom report set rather than the inbox “Bi_For_SCCM” report set, as discussed during your on-boarding training. The "Bi_For_SCCM" report set will always be overwritten during upgrades. For more information, see our App Upgrade documentation.

If you’re not a current customer and you’d like to install a fully functional 30-day trial of Bi for SCCM you can launch the installation from the Bi for SCCM page on AppSource. Afterwards, complete this form to receive your trial license key.

Changes to the Info page

  • The Info page has changed to make it clear that the refresh time is displayed in UTC. This is a known limitation of the PowerBi service, all PowerBi data centers display time in UTC.
  • When the new look of the Power Bi service is enabled you can also view the refresh time in your local time zone by opening the View report details menu in the top banner.

Changes to the Office 365 page

  • Removed "Last Scenario Result" from the Office 365 page. Per Microsoft this data should never be used as an indication of success/failure for Office updates and it isn’t intended for consumption outside of click-to-run.
  • Added a new field, “Channel Latest Version”, to the data model and the Office 365 page. Channel Latest Version is determined by finding the newest version of each Office channel in your environment. It is possible that Channel Latest Version does not indicate the version number of the latest version released by Microsoft.
  • Added a new field to the page and data model, “Office 365 Version Current %” This indicates the percentage of O365 that are on the latest known version for their respective channel.
  • Added a new field to the page and data model “Version Status” with 2 values “Current Version” and “Upgrade Needed” as a quick method of determining whether or not a client is on the latest known version of O365.
